Statewide candidates begin to submit signatures [Updated 3-27-09 12:18 AM]

The State Board of Elections started accepting petitions from statewide candidates today. Campaigns are in various stages of signature collection and verification. 10,000 signatures are needed to get on the ballot in Virginia. Here’s what we know so far:

Terry McAuliffe submitted 17,243 signatures.

Jody Wagner submitted 17,858 signatures.

Brian Moran has submitted16,928 signatures.

Pat Edmonson has collected 13,012 signatures, is in the midst of verification, and will continue collecting signatures for an additional week.

Mike Signer has submitted 13,354 signatures.

Still waiting on information from Creigh Deeds and Jon Bowerbank.
