Working toward the primary, and Unity Rally after
By Joel McDonald • May 28th, 2009 • Category: Blog, Campaigns & Elections
We’re down to just days before the Democratic primary here in the great Commonwealth of Virginia, and it’s an exciting time to get involved.
Not interested in the drama of the contested primary for Governor, and Lt. Governor? Not a problem, you can still get involved with Democrats here in Virginia Beach and start working toward success for progressive candidates for the House of Delegates.
THIS SATURDAY – The Coordindate Campaign of the Democratic Party of Virginia is organizing a meet & greet followed by canvassing for current Delegates Bobby Matheison (21st) and Joe Bouchard (83rd), and the next Delegate from the 82nd district, Peter Schmidt. We need to get out there and let voters know who these fantastic candidates are, and why they should vote for them in November. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the Coordinated Campaign staff and other activists from around Virginia Beach.
Saturday, March 30th @ 10:00 AM
5101 Cleveland St. (BB&T Building—3rd Floor)
JUNE 9TH, PRIMARY DAY - Polls open at 6:00 AM and close at 7:00 PM. At the very least, get out and vote. Take up up a notch and make sure your friends and family get out to vote. Better yet, dedicate some time at the polls for your candidate. Get in touch with your local organizers for information on how to get involved. Regardless of who you’re supporting in contested primaries, we all understand the importance of getting out the vote.
JUNE 13TH, UNITY RALLY – After the dust settles from the primary, it’ll be time to unite and work for progressive candidates here in Virginia. The Democratic Party of Virginia is hosting a Unity Rally at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, to bring everyone together to start working toward Democratic success in Virginia, and have the chance to hear from the united Democratic ticket for the first time
Saturday, June 13th @ 12:00 PM Noon
William and Mary Alumni House
Corner of Scotland and Richmond Rds
Williamsburg, VA 23187
RSVP & Puchase BBQ Tickets HERE
I hope you see you around, either this Saturday, at the polls, or at the Rally. Our goal is to keep Virginia blue, keeping the doors for progressive policy open!
