President Obama: June is LGBT Pride Month

By Joel McDonald • Jun 1st, 2010 • Category: Blog, Related News & Events

Barack ObamaThis year, just as last year, President Barack Obama has proclaimed June as  Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, stating that, “our Nation draws its strength from our diversity, with each of us contributing to the greater whole.  By affirming these rights and values, each American benefits from the further advancement of liberty and justice for all.”

I recommend reading the full text of the President’s proclaimation.

I am proud to have a President who understands and appreciates the contributions of LGBT people to society.

  1. Good idea. After all, since sexual deviancy is a choice, it is rightly something in which one should take ‘”pride.” Or, back on Earth, shame.

  2. Yes, sexual deviancy is a choice. What has that got to do with LGBT Pride month?

  3. “I am proud to have a President who understands and appreciates the contributions of LGBT people to society.”
Really? . . . More like a president who wont give and natural rights to the LGBT community!

  4. Fred, we’ve made some rather historical strides since January 2009. Keep watching!
