Knight wins against LaCombe in the 81st

Voters chose to elect Republican Barry Knight over the Democratic nominee, John LaCombe, to represent them in the Virginia House of Delegates. About 6% of eligible voters voted in favor of Barry Knight by a margin of 66 points.



Special election in the 81st district today

Today, voters in the 81st house district of Virginia vote in a special election to fill the seat vacated by Delegate Terri Suite, who resigned to become a lobbyist at a law firm. Barry Knight: Hovering above the law since 2000

Barry Knight, Republican nominee in the special election for the seat vacated by Terrie Suite in the 81st district of the Virginia House of Delegates, has been landing his helicopters in Virginia Beach without the required permit. Knight says he, “had no idea”.



John LaCombe officially declares candidacy in the 81st

On Monday, December 8, 2008, John LaCombe officially became the Democratic party nominee for the 81st district House of Delegates seat. LaCombe will face Republican party nominee Barry Knight in the upcoming January 6, 2009 Special Election. If elected, John will replace Thomas Jefferson as the youngest person to serve in the Virginia legislature’s history.

Beach Democratic party chairman Ollie Bates said the party will nominate LaCombe today for the Jan. 6 election against Republican Barry Knight and Jeff Dente, an independent. This, of course, is very exciting news as Democrats and other progressives can now officially work toward securing a win in the 81st for LaCombe.
