Peter Schmidt is the Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, 82nd district. He’s running against Republican Bob Purkey, who has held the seat for 29 years.

Peter Schmidt wants to move Virginia forward in a reasonable way, and I think that’s something everyone can agree with. Peter Schmidt may well be the kind of bipartisan progressive who can win in the business minded, typically conservative, 82nd district.

Peter Schmidt’s campaign launch was a success. It’s obvious that he has the benefit of a wide range of support. It’s going to be a difficult race, but Peter, his campaign, and his supporters seem energized and optimistic about the race against Purkey to turn the 82nd district blue.

Bob Purkey fell asleep while representing the people of Virginia Beach in the House of Delegates. It’s time to elect Peter Schmidt, and give Purkey his much needed rest.
